Looked at the above and its telling me that this machine is pre 1978.It has stuck the test of time very well and i will enquire about its history and see what if anything turns up

I don´t know if they are called "backloaders" in English but that would be the name if translated.
Anyway, they are very popular among farmers etc because they are simple and effecticve. Especially the 62x and 64x series as they are slightly smaller than the 841.
The "2" and "4" in 62x and 64x tells if it has 4wd. The 8-series are always 4wd as fas as I know.
The 6-series has a four pot engine which is another reason they are popular among farmers. 4 cylinders mean fuel economy while the 8-series with its six pot engine are more thirsty.
The older ones had a narrow cabin and the later ones has a wider cabin but the comfort are still not up to modern standards.
Neither are safety, having to climb in to the cabin over the lifting arms.
There are even older backloaders such as H10, 218, 225, 430 and possible some more that I have forgotten but those are much older in their construction with manual gear box etc. The 6-series and on have power shift.
There are usually no rear view mirrors (as on the one on the pics) as they would have been mounted on the fenders to clear the lifting arms. This is a weak point and most older backloaders miss their mirrors.
The door are also sometimes missing.
A big varning about missing side windows on the backloaders:
If a window are missing it is possible to put an arm out there and have it squeezed or cut off by the lifting arms!

Heres a few pics taken today.One of our L150E`s building the stockpile.None of us drivers knew about this machine.It was delivered from new to a self drive job in Essex,& came back 1 yr later looking like new.Not so now though
The L330E was parked in the enterance on the way out tonight.Looks very clean & tidy.Seems to have some kind of quick hitch on it,but i`ve never seen one like it.Not sure if the forks in the (smallish looking)bucket are for the volvo,as theres also a Komatsu WA600 here somewhere too.The forks are used to lift stone blocks,& theres also some kind of heavy duty prising attachment for getting the stone blocks out of the face.

Spotted this today at Willenhall near to Wolverhampton they are building a new superstore and this Volvo L120E loader was on site.

Here at last are some pics of J Wainwright`s machines.Wainwright`s quarry is about 4 miles from Shepton Mallet in Somerset.Its where i spend most of my time.They have a 2004 Liebherr 954,Ackerman 420,Cat 771D,Komatsu 40T dumptruck & HM400 adt,A/Barford RD040,O & K D30 adt,Volvo BM L120,L150D,L150E & L220D.Theres also a vintage cat loader for shows,& a Ecluid(i think)dumptruck on a plinth near the enterance.I will get more pics as i can,& post them in the relivent sections.
The L120 is used for the tar plant loading the hoppers etc.Yesterday it had 4 new tyres fitted.The L220E is our machine(Kelston),the L220D has been off the road for a few weeks so the quarry hired ours.Alan,the driver reckons his L220D is the better machine.More tear out force,longer loader arms & the tyre chains add to the weight & vastly improve traction.

Our yard loader.Has quick hitch,bucket for cleaning yard,pallet forks,crane jib etc.Driven it a few times,its no Rolls Royce,but its a good little loader.
