This is one of our 966G's that has been working loading coal, machine clocked up 16,500 hours without any major incident or repair.
Came in for a missfire, it had finally decided enough was enough and dropped a valve, so whilst i've got it in, decided on full re-bearing and re-seal of the transmission, re-bearing and re-seal of the axles, hyd pump and cyl re-seal and a new engine from Cat.

Stuart, I fully agree with Holger, I'm so impressed with your pictures and I'm VERY grateful that you take the time to take them in the first place and then post them here for us to enjoy.
I think you must have one of the most interesting jobs around.

How many hours for that job?
Looks a fair old task to me, but no doubt you boys are all geared up for it

Re: 966 overhaul
Well the 966 is allback up and running, had a couple of hold ups on the job. Waited for a wiring harness to come from the States and had to rob the bucket tilt lever for another machine, but all back up and running now.
2 days of hot testing to make sure there are no leaks and now its ready to go back to work.
Originally planned to give her a lick of paint but site are screaming to get it back out to work...........
just got to sort out the bill now......
