Simon,

The machine shown in your picture is a Thwaites 2 Tonne which is also the model number, the serial number given shows the machine left Thwaites 12/05/1976. The valve shown can more than likely be replaced with a kit from your Thwaites dealer but if you give the Thwaites spares team a call they'll be happy to advise you of the part number from the checks i've done the price should be in the region of £300. I've listed the Thwaites number below, hope this helps.

I gave thwaites a ring and they were very helpful, they don't do the same valve but you're right
there is a kit. Ordered yesterday arrived today at local dealer.
Just got to fit the thing now, fingers crossed.
