I would say 99.9% P & H 1900AL, as I believe that these were the only large P & H shovels to work in the UK. There is a picture of the Taylor Woodrow machine in Peter Grimshaws book 'Sunshine Miners' working on their Trecatty site in 1980 and the same machine after refurbishment at Chester House OCCS in 1992. It then ended up at Nadins & High Cross OCCS in Derbyshire whre I took the attached images in 1998. It would have then been cut up I should imagine after finishing the site along with a RB195B. (Picture attached) Capacity wise the 1900AL was slightly smaller than the 195B with a 8.4 cu/m dipper against the 195's 9.2 cu/m.

As an aside, 'Simms' (WJ Cooke & Simms?) had P&H hydraulic excavators working on UK Opencast sites.

Hi IBH I can remember an ex Simms P & H 1200 face shovel in Dyggor Gaylords yard at Giltbrook, Notts (where IKEA is now ) in the late 1980's after D G had took over Simms. Ian
