Do you think the 9350 will be the biggest new digger we will see in the UK?

I heard a rumour that something bigger is in the pipeline ;) .......... remains to be seen what the ever changing livery boys do ??

And just for a blast from the past, proving that old dogs take their time to die, an oldie from the Miller fleet. Bonus points if anybody can tell me it's fleet number ?? (Was it MM0471 ??) It did end up under Scottish Coal's ownership and worked in Ayrshire until it was recycled.

Great news about Glentaggart :brravo:

COME ON ... Spill the beans? What could it be? mm PC4000 maybe? EX3500? Maybe a RH170?

Would it be a Liebherr? Whats the next size up?

No Idea regarding that old Oil leaks's & Kracks face shovel .. I always avoided them ..

I don't think it'll be a Liebher, Komatsu have mentioned a PC4000 in the past but as Joe has said it could be an RH, possibly the 170B or whatever it is today!

Joe, here's a snap of the 285 at Heanors old yard

Nigel, not sure about the RH75 but here is photo of perhaps the RH9 next to it!

The thing that puzzled me about the 285 was why is it built up in the back of the yard? surely if Heanors brought it in it would be in pieces ready to ship out again. This beast looked as if it tramped there and was parked up with some ply sheets placed over the cab windows :dizzy:

Na Paul it's a Coal Shovel - MM0836. Funny thing is your pic of MM0839 should make it of a similar age as the coal shovel but it's actually got the older cab on it.

Joe, i didn't think there were any H285 backhoes in the UK ( good chance your one is a 185 or it's come from overseas)

Hi Nigel,

Were the 2 blue O&Ks up at Broken Cross?
The RH9 I photographed was part of the fleet at the old Brymbo steel works in Wrexham which Parkhill Estates, a Cornes family company, didthe reclamation works.
The fleet contained a lot of old 777A/B/C from the Wimpey and Miller fleets along with some Terex TS24 scrapers.
The excavator fleet contained the white RH120C b/h which went up North and an old RH40 b/h. They also had a 375 which was last seen residing at the back of the coal stockyard at Broken Cross ready for the gas axe.

Both machines were parked at a site near Cumnock, almost down the road from Greenburn. I think was called Auchencross ???? Look @ Goggle
55.398599,-4.23759 The RH75 is sitting there with I think the old Demag H135 across from it (it was being plundered as well)

Cheers Nigel.

Rumour has it that the Demag H185 up at Shewington has been sold! Not sure who is getting it, but I'll endeavour to find out!

Wealth of UK opencast Knowledge on this forum

Hey Argie .. I worked at that job in Brymbo North Wales .. I actually got the sack  .. The RH9 was known as the Red Barron .. 8-) An old Cat coaling shovel called Olive OIL .. The White 120 back-actor was called the White Elephant

Dont you EVER mention that 375 ever again  Biggest load of crap/scrap/junk/crap/junk/crap/junk/scrap I've ever worked on .. A CAT guy called Garry (Top draw excavator boy) spent 3 days working out why it wouldn't dig .. Am sure I seen it a year later at Powharlen OCCS without a carbody just sitting in the Mud   Although they had the first two IIRC .. Well imagine the other one deserved a good rest (Fire axe)
