Hello.
My name is Peter and I am interested in the Mining-Excuvator Demag H485.
How many units were built, what where the differences, and is there still one working??
Or at least parked in a mine in one piece??
The list should contain at least the Demag H485 Models before the H740 and H655.
I started to create a list with some information I found on broshures and books. Who knows more or got some pictures?
(you are welcome to send me pictures and information at xy@linie-z.com to help to complete the list)
I want to create a poster with all the different macheines on display and then pic one livery for a scalemodel in 1:50 that I want to build.
Greetings, Peter

Re: List of all H485
Hi Peter welcome to CMN I have a vague recollection that the first H485 that originally worked in Scotland was broken up for spare parts after it had finished working in Canada? I am sure I have seen a photo of it somewhere semi-stripped for parts? Perhaps some other CMN members can shed some light on this?

Re: List of all H485
That's correct- the first H485 was purchased new by Coal Contractors for their Roughcastle Site near Falkirk Scotland. It loaded 785's initially and these came to Godkin once the 789's became available. I also heard it was then moved to Canada.

Hi Jeremy and Dave. Thanks for the information! I will add it to the list. Great!

Hi Dave. That would be great! I have a picture in a book of a 485 from Suncore that is used for spareparts. I think it is the machine from Scotland.
