Hi Martyn,
Thanks for that very interesting info.
The pictures of the FL6 & HD4 were great....you don't see many pics of those machines in good nick..
Speaking of 4 in 1 Buckets,I saw a near new Chinese RANGER wheel loader at work yesterday. Looked like it had done about 20 hours work.....one of the bucket teeth was broken off & the 4 in 1 bucket apron was already misaligned . When it closed,there was a half inch gap on one side.
Probably not a Rubery Owen product...!

I had a phonecall from Wayne May in Oz las week,he is looking for final drive pinions for a BTD6,I have found one in my shed but looking for better ones.Been trying to email him but it gets bounced back. Are you in contact with him ?

Hi Martyn,
I have had contact with Wayne,but not sure of his address.
He was on Redpower,I think.
Some of those old parts that were easily found,are now drying up.
My stock of BTD6 parts is low,as I get a lot of calls for that stuff.
I have a few nice TD6 Pinions here,including a Narrow Gauge pair.

You have got to hang onto some bits for your own use.I have been lucky,picking up Drott spares on my travels.Always on the lookout.Been offered complete machines.Time is the enemy

As a loader the B100 was a joke. Anything other than loose material and the engine just died when you put the biucket into a spoil heap. The only good loader in this class that I have seen was a Cat 933G

Must have been something wrong with it as I have been pulling out trees with mine.Sounds like a fuel injection pump problem you had.I find that the BTD6 is slightly better.And the 125 I used to have was a good machine.I also had a 933g and it was a very good powerfull machine,its turbo helped though. Plus the extra two ton in weight

They also were a lot cheaper that the 933's when new so were seen on many building sites in the 1960's and 70's.When I worked in Devon,a lot were sold after we refurbished them.It was rare to see a cat in the yard as the farmers could not afford them and parts were expensive. tight farmers My 125 could shift a load of muck,even with seised tracks because the machine had been stood for years.Good machines if looked after

Shortly after the B100s were introduced a number of the came out of the factory with in correct timing marks on the front cover and this did result in a lack of power and of the glow plugs cracking the coil element. I remember going round from site to site and spill timing the injection pumps.
However the B100s never did seem to have quite as much low down grunt as the BTD6s, it was thought that the change from the CAV pumps on the older 6s to the Minimecs on the 100s was the cause as that was the only significant change to the engines.
