The Classic Machinery Network

I have to post a big thanks to the guys at Komatsu in West Australia. My old machine went in for a long overdue repair of the fuel pump and literally came back looking like a new machine. New paint and decals, new exhaust, recovered the seat, rerouted the air inlet and replaced the make shift bonnet with a beautifully crafted replacement. Thanks Komatsu.

You don't see many of the D10S around.
Plumbers liked them ,as they were able to get into tight spots.
I have a brochure in my collection.
Myself,I'd take a D21S any day....

I am sure the 21 has more grunt but can you transport it on a car trailer and does it have a quick detach backhoe? Cheers.

Yep,you can get the hoe,ripper,linkage for a D21.
Still,your machine is doing the job for you & I bet it craps all over those Eastwind P.O.S.
There wouldn't be too many D10S in WA.Track loaders were never big over there.Do you live in the hills ,Simon? I lived in WA for 5 years in the 90s....going back to visit soon.

Hi Jim. Yes I live up near Mundaring. I have only seen two other D10 S since I got mine. It was at the side of the road with a for sale sign on and I just had to have it. It doesn't compete with a bobcat for speed but it is very reliable and easy to look after and the backhoe makes it quite useful. Does the 21 have a diff like the 10. Mine has a diff and came with flat track plates. Would not push for love or money. A soon as you met resistance it would just spin one track. Put grousers on it and now it will push a full bucket no trouble. Cheers.

I lived in Chidlow in the 90s. Nice area.
Your machine was made,I think,for building sites,so smooth grousers would have been common.It's very frustrating to lose all your traction with smooth shoes....if you've ever used a Swamp machine on hard ground,you'll know what I mean.
