Martyn
Im not that worried about the trucks ,could i turn up with my Taurus tracked loader and meet a few different people.
I may have given the impression that i am only interested in trucks but i enjoy plant and tractors as well, in fact anything that moves as long as youre not expected to polish it.

Hi Martyn,

Ive just recently got hold of a Drott B6 K3 (BTD 6), serial number BD 1734 in good working order - Engine number BD 264 65601 if that helps, and would like to do a major overhaul with respect to oils. Jim Stoneman (Dozerman) from Victoria, Aus , advised me to contact you in the hope that you maybe able to give me some oil and fuel filter numbers.

The engine oil filter is a cartridge type located on the rh rear of the engine in a verticle cannister. The fuel filters are Donaldson P55711?? - white replaceable units with end caps - two off.

Interested in any info you can point to me

Regards

Gordon - Mandurah, West Australia email: Gemec@bigpond.com.

Will email you some filter numbers soon. Keep us posted on your progress. Before you change the fuel filters I would give the fuel tank a good cleanout and refill with fresh diesel. Also check the hydraulic pump drive for wear.A common fault on the BTD6 is that the "nose " bolts work loose.Use a trolley jack on the front end and see if there is vertical play.It would also be a good idea to remove the steering clutch inspection plates and inspect for water or brake lining debris.

Re: BTD6 Drott Starter Motor Issue

Post #20 by gordon West OZ » Sun Aug 07, 2011 11:17 am

With reference to Drott B6 K3 -engine BD264, engine number 65601, I am now experiencing Starter motor problems with a likely rebuild or replacement.

Can anybody advise if there is an after market model replacement or substitute unit to the OME.

Thanks

Gordon
