The red Loyd ( with a single L :ugeek: ) Dragon definetly has military carrier tracks , probably war surplus . The Loyd and Bren carriers used same tracks .
These tracks are now worth a lot of money because the Military Vehicle restoration boys are dragging hulks off ranges etc but most have no tracks. The Bren Carrier being a light , fast , rare and interesting AFV is sought after ,much easier to put on the drive than a Sherman :D but most carriers were weighed in for scrap.

Sorry about the LL's. What a waste of ink. I'll try to get it right in future.
They just bolted the grouser pads onto those military style tracks. 8-)

Hi John, I have the remains of an industrial Loyd Dragon nestling in my yard. I bought it for spares for my own one a number of years ago. It would have had a blade on it , its gone but the arms are still there on the side of the hull. If thats what you need photos of I could have a go at uploading some. Never heard of Dragons with drott type gear as original but anythings possible.
Jim.

Hi all, I picked up a loyd Dragon approximately 1984 with no engine/transmissions or tin ware so I fitted a Ford Transit v4 and gearbox to it used for all kinds of things like playing in the sand dunes and on the beach ware we clocked it at 30 mph not game go any faster but ten or so years back I fitted a crane on it. Recently the v4 has blown a head gasket so it has been removed and a 302 ford Cleveland and f100 gearbox is being shoe horned in but before it was finished I needed the crane so I pushed it into to use the crane.

Hi Mrsmackpaul when i'm finished with it it will sound awesome but motor and gearbox is more for weight as that crane can pick up 2 ton at 1.5 mtrs and pick up 200 kgs at 6 mtrs. I'm in Mackay Qld where are you.

Hi Paul this one is out at Clermont. A couple of years after i took these pictures it was blown down in a storm so he put it back with a canopy and the chain is cemented to the ground now. I haven't been out there for a long time but it should still be there.
