Yeap, That's what I thought Nick. We used to load our crawlers (up to D8 22H) over the side of our low loader using railway sleepers supported by wooden blocks, but I've never seen anything like this clip before, as you say looks pretty dangerous !

wheel rims were also used for side loading

well things have moved on since then with rear loading ramps etc,maybe not in Greece?

The company we use to move our crusher uses small blocks like that. But they don you a nooteboom trailor with detachable swan neck so its a bit different.
