A specially modified Case wheeled excavator has been delivered to Hills Waste Solutions in Salisbury in Wiltshire.

The Case WX210 has been fitted with a hydraulic coupling device mounted to the chassis below the arm and dipper so that it can lift and move large recycling bins at Wiltshire Council Household Recycling's facility in the city.


The unique machine drives up to the bins with its arm raised. The coupling device is then also raised to latch onto the bin in what is effectively a hook-and-eye arrangement. The hydraulic system then allows bins that have become full to be raised so that they can pulled or pushed into position for loading onto lorries and recycled as appropriate according to their contents.
