MASSEY FERGUSON EXCAVATORS REMEMBERED

Back in the 1970’s Massey Ferguson (MF) were not only well known for their agricultural kit, but were quite a big player in the construction equipment market too.

FEMALE OPERATOR ON TOP OF HER GAME

With the UK construction industry facing a massive skills shortage, we could be seeing more females entering the fray. A couple of years ago I travelled to Exeter to meet Aimee Pooley, one of the new generation of skilled plant operators. In this blog post I bring an updated report which first appeared in Earthmovers Magazine.

Wow, Aimee is really good with the gear and can "Reverse" a Trailer, she seems to also be tuned in to the task in hand making the work look easy and very smooth, great to see this working out well for the young Lady and credit to the kit owners for not being slow to spot a good worker.

DOOSAN REACHES OUT TO SAVE CASTLE

One of the most enduring images of the aftermath of Storm Frank over the New Year break must be that of Abergeldie Castle, as it was left perched on the washed away banks of the River Dee in Scotland. A brand new Doosan long reach excavator played its part in a dramatic shoring up operation.

OLD GLORIES IN BLACK & WHITE

Old kit has always been a popular topic on my blog at its various hosts over the years and judging by your feedback it always will be. I have been taking a look back through the archives and come across some real old gems to share with you in this post.

ACE OF SPADES RE-VISITED

I was contacted last week by regular reader Bev Walker, to see if I had any more photos of the P&H 757 walking dragline which was more commonly known as the Ace of Spades. So I am happy to oblige with a few more bits of material from the Digger Man Blog archives.
