Cleaning up dry steering discs

Hi Jim , I will post the same reply as i did on HEF .Repco had a cheapy brand brake cleaner for $5 a can .and did what we needed it to do ..No bad sirprises yet as you go through the mitsy? ian.

Hi Ian,
No nasty suprises,except the usual lack of maintenence & cleaning over the years.Some of the bolts on the trans/steer cases have had mulch sitting on them,so bolt heads are corroded.
The clutch packs are hardly worn,but the bevel leaks oil into the case & the bearings were severely over-greased.I need to fix the oil/grease issue ,so the clutches are out . I figure a bit of effort now will give me a reliable farm machine for several years.
I love Mitsy crawlers.... :bow: They are well built & very handy.I never get angry with them,even if they need work or $$$ spent...
