Liebher electrics

This is a long shot but here goes...
I've been asked to have a look at a Liebher 360 digger. At this time the model and age are unknown. I'm told the ignition key switch fell apart and has been replaced with an oem unit. It starts and runs ok, tracks ok, but no other controls work. I can only assume at the moment that one wire is in the wrong place on the back of the key as if there was a fault in the dead mans switch nothing would work. Unfortunately I didn't see it beforehand so I've no idea what I'm getting myself into. It worked ok before the switch broke so I can't believe it can be anything other than a misplaced wire unless a fuse has blown when the switch was being changed.
Am I heading the right way on this or are there likely to be many possible issues?
