Hi Guys
Why do machines have green beacons. I have seen this in quarries etc but I have noticed that many sites know have them also
We fit various forms of lamps/beacons at customers requests to show the electric tow tractors we manufacture are traveling at certain required speeds etc in the environment they work.......would the green lights be for something similar on sites?
Been meaning to ask for ages but only remembered after going through the works at Catworth M1/M6/A14 interchange where many of the machines have both amber and green beacons installed..
thanks
Richard

Re: Green Beacon
We have these fitted at work
you have to put he seat belt over you.
you can not fit the seat belt , then sit on it.

No no no blinking over the top Health & Safety; people should have a choice and not be dictated to; we're supposed to live in a free society
Kind of makes you sick doesn't it no wonder companies struggle to get skilled men and youngsters that want to start in the trade, what upsets me about all of this nonsense is that this is not done for the operators benefit, its merely to reduce the chances of an insurance claim.
What a mad society we live in!
Off me soap box now

Re: Green Beacon
If you have to do this sureley it would be better to have a red beacon showing everyone if you're not wearing a belt?
If a LandRover doesn't leak oil, it's run out.

Re: Green Beacon
I have always thought that Rob - just seems odd that you have a green beacon flashing all the time to show the seatbelt is being worn rather than a red beacon to say the seatbelt isn't being worn - i.e you could quickly see the exceptions.
I'm guessing green is easier to differentiate against the orange beacons and you can't really have green to say it isn't being worn (if that makes sense?!).
