Hi Julian
Are the 15x26 tyres still on the market? A tidy looking 3c111 you have there.

Yes I did find a fix which involved welding a threaded bar into the side of the cast base and has a T- handle which you tight and in turn takes up the slack. It has to be slacked off again before rotating the seat. If you want I can get another one machined and made, let me know if you are interested

Thought I would give a bit of an update on how the restoration is going as its been four months since I purchased the machine and pretty much all the restoration work is complete apart from the cab which is just being started now. Fortunately the machine was in as good as condition as I thought it was so and hasn't been abused and been well mainted during its life. It certainly makes it easier when you can rely on a spanner to take parts off rather than having to heat it up or burn it off.

I have also been fortunate to find a lot of parts for it from JCB World Parts Centre, or through the contacts I have at the dealers oversees which some have been in business for many years so still had some old stock which they have kindly given me. Also good old eBay has come up trumps on many occasions and did have a lucky find with a haud of new parts which someone was selling in America of all the parts I was looking for but no longer available such as wiring harness, chrome lights, wiper motors and arms etc.

The body work has just been finished which was the worst part of the machine as the fenders had rotten away inside due to water holding under the rubber mats. I ended up having compete new fenders and tool box pressed as well as half the front nose which was also corroded very badly. That is all done but was very expensive to have them all removed and new ones made. Attached are a few pictures although the pictures do not pay justice to al the mechanical work which has been done so far
