I've been offered this cheaply - it looks like it has been repaired before, is this repairable do you think?

If its cheap you should be able to get a dipper and ram from one of the breakers

Yeah the replacement route is the way to go. A dipper is £200 and a dipper ram is £40.

Many thanks to Phil,Martyn, William and Martyn Henley for your invaluable advice, I will add the sums up and make a decision on purchase. Are these parts readily available.

Once again thanks

These parts are very common hence the cheap prices. A 2D/3 boom could be hard to find.

Possibly by lifting rear end with the dipper beyond a critical angle and then the weight of the machine sliding forward?

The pin hasn't been bolted in and the constant working action of the dipper ram has "worked" the pin to slide out of the cuff.
