Hi guys,
I needto change the seals on the two lifting rams on my 3cx.
I'm wondering whats the best way to remove the rams to take them to the local hydraulic shop to have the seals replaced. I realise I cannot take out the top pin of the ram with the loader down, cos I can't beat the pin back with the bonnet in the way, so I'm wondering can I get the rams repaired one at a time? and let the other ram keep the loader up while I take away the other ram. Thing is, if I disconnect the pipes from the ram, will the pressure on the other ram push out all the oil and drop the loader?
These pins look like they'll be difficult to get out, even the bottom ones.
Any tips would be great guys...
Cheers!

Even if the rams are separate it is not safe to leave anything suspended in this way, have you got a wall or something you can rest the bucket on

Well I was thinking of resting the bucket on the bed of a trailer, but I think these pins are going to be pure misery to get out. Im guessing a 4in1 bucket must weigh about a ton in its own right, plus the weight of the arms!
I'm nervous about doing this job to be honest... but theyre weeping badly and have to get fixed.

Why don't you get one of the call out guys to come and do it on site?

Actually that picture gave me a great idea!!
I could set up some scaffolding and rest it on that! It would only be dismantled for a day while I take them in.
I couldn't afford getting a call out service to do it, it's only an occasional use machine, it's in retirement really,
it's there because I hate using a shovel, but I hate oil leaks and these two rams are the only leak left to remedy.
I'll post some pics when I have things setup!!
