Firstly, I must say what a helpful and friendly bunch are the people who populate this forum. (Dodgy grammar alert!).
I was asking some questions about Kingpost hoses a few weeks ago and answers were immediately forthcoming.
On the subject of the throttle assemblies on the 3C Mk2, I am in the process of putting the throttle back together after a few weeks of heating, bashing and swearing at long ungreased brake and clutch linkages, and a completely seized (then snapped) hand throttle cable. Once I have this done I can (hopefully) safely move my JCB with it stopping, starting and moving as I bid it.
My 3C Mk 2 is a 1973 (Sn: 63605) backhoe digger, and the throttle doesn't match any I have so far seen on websites or parts catalogues.
It has a rod actuator (about 6 foot long) going from the distributor throttle lever to the bottom of the foot-pedal and then a flexi-cable from the same location on the foot-pedal for the hand throttle (to over-ride the foot pedal in effect).
Problem is, that this has been buggered about with (at the pedal end) and wondered if anyone has close up photos or diagrams of how this assembly SHOULD be put together?
I've made up a new cable and outer for the hand throttle, but want to make sure that I can at least assemble what I assume are the correct parts in the correct manner. I'm no amateur at making do and mending, but would like to put this 3C back to 'stock' as I cure its myriad "Farmers Fixes".
I have a couple of JCB manuals and neither show the detail I need for this so, I'm hoping that someone out there can (again) come to my rescue.
All the best to you all.
