I paid a fortune for a Tacho Cable today, they cost 90euro incl VAT. I tried everywhere on the internet, but failed, so had to resort to the local JCB dealer. I should have it on Friday they said.

Hi,
Didnt have any luck with the PCB Dashboard bulbs, I found a supplier, who went through around 200 differnet types of bulb but couldnt get any the same as mine (He thinks they are special JCB!)
I have most of the lights working and I changed the working lights 12v - 55w for 12v 21-LEDs they work very well and are similarly priced.
Question for you, where did you get the sealed beam conversion kits?

Cheers John
Currently working on king post ram seals :dizzy:

Cheers Mark,
My m/c serial is 327143, but I already have a wiring diag - that is about 99% good.
Would you happen to know A: what the little bulbs located on the circuit board on the dash are called and possibly a p/n and if they are still available. I had to solder a part of the track on the board which had melted, i now have most lights working, but a couple of bulbs missing!

Thanks for your help,
Cheers John (retired  in France

John,
Im really sorry, just saw your question regarding dash bulbs. P/n is 704/15106. They are rated 24v 1.2watts
I would lay money on VDO being able to supply a fuel sender well cheaper than JCB. let me have afish around see if i can find the spec on it. Be back soon . Mark

Hello fellow owners,
I am not going to comment on the wiring question as, although, I recognise some of the faults mentioned and, as the owner of a 1986 3CX-4 I have downloaded the info., kindly provided by Mark, pending a future including some spare time!
I have been dealing with hydraulic leakage from back actor rams as a higher priority for me. My only help at the moment would be to recommend anyone needing parts for reasonable money and good advice to try a JCB specialist located near to me on the southern Wales/England borders(they will mail parts if size/weight makes it possible) they are K.S.Barber,The Pludds, Ruardean, Glos, tel: 01594-861050.
My next worry on my machine is the clamping system for the kingpost and carriage, which looks expensive as the twist control valve is not supplying oil to the clamps and I have to lock it up physically at the moment!

Further to comment posted on Sunday, I have since been educated in the correct operation of the Hydra Clamp by using crowd ram valve to supply the oil!
Operator trouble again!?
I really must find an Operators Manual, any offers?

Hello Mark
Thanks for your uploading your JCB 3cx wiring diagram. I have similar wiring problems with my machine the number of mine is 347231 which is just beyond the scope of the one that you have uploaded. Please could you upload that one as well, if you have it. Also I can't seem to find any item indicating the tacho connection in the component key. This is an item that i would very much like to get working. Im new to all this please forgive me for asking for help in my first post, hopefully going forward i can give back
Regards Nigel
