Rings are expensive and can be hard to get hold of. Search the net and try some machinery dealers.If you get one take care when fitting as they are very brittle,a hair line crack will render them useless.See previous postings.

hi martyn, finally got the ford slew working good!! been having some fun digging up stumps!! got a cast ring machined for £78 and replaced the seals too. next job now is replacing seals on steering rams!

I was enquiring about a cast slew ring for a ford 550 digger. I got one from a local scrap yard. His name is james whitmen in ballynahinch co down. It cost £100. He has another two diggers if someone needs the same ring. Thanks for your help.
