I have downloaded the maintenance manual posted on this site that is supposed to apply to my 1994 JCB 214, serial number 41XXXX. The file name is:
jcb_3cx_4cx_214_215_217_workshopmanual_sec_wat.pdf
The problem is that this manual does seem to apply to my machine (though it really looks like it should).
In this manual;
-there is no mention of a screen in the tank between the hydraulic fluid filter and the pump as my machine has (according to the mechanics at the local JCB shop)
- the manual seems to indicate that the hyd pump is behind the engine as opposed to the front of the engine where mine is located
- my machine is not electric servo actuated whereas much of the manual seems to address the electric machines.
- there is no data on the inspection/service/replacement of the hydraulic fluid.
Heavy equipment is not my specialty. Am I missing something? Do I have the pdf file?
Cheers. Thanks for any help.
Alex

Hi Alex, the manual you have downloaded is for machines serial no: 930000 on, way after your model I'm afraid! You need workshop manual number 2 serial no's : 400001 - 460000. JCB publication no: 9803/3260 issue 9. Cheers Mark

Re: JCB 214 Maintenance manual
Hi Mark,
Thanks for the info.
Do you or anyone out there have this manual in digital (workshop manual number 2 serial no's : 400001 - 460000. JCB publication no: 9803/3260 issue 9) or know if the manual is/will be available on this site? My Canadian JCB dealer would love to lighten my wallet by $850 for this 17 year old semi-retired machine.
Cheers,
Alex

Re: JCB 214 Maintenance manual
I am in the same situation for a 1995 JCB Sitemaster, but I have a lead on a print copy. I am hoping to also find a PDF, online soft copy of the manual. Lets stay in touch ..
I am also searching for a JCB mechanic in the Bay Area of California.

It should be available on the JCB download section soon, its a big file and requires Holger to work his magic.
In the meantime it will be here for another 4 days.
