Well about 6 months ago my grandad passed away and left this little gem behind!
it was a runner up till fairly recently but (i think) it had a water leak which caused it to seize up!
as much as i would have like to have kept it i had nowhere to put it or the finances to restore it! and his late wife wanting it gone i was left with no choice but to scrap it!
so yesterdays saturday mission was to go load it and take it to the scrap yrd,
with the help of my mate chris and his tractor and lowloader trailor, and a new holland lb110 off we went!

never really being totally happy about scraping it i called in at our local plant hire /export/dealer to see if they were intrested! luckly one of the blokes who worked there was so he bought it there and then ideal!
so a happy end to the story, guts me to scrap things but hopefully now the jacob may have another lease of life

Amazing Photos Tone, !!
And a good story complete with a happy ending as well I was feeling really sad when reading the first part as these machines are close to my heart I first learnt to operate on one of these that my late father used to operate.
Heres a shot of it
Nick.

Re: jcb 3c mk 11 R.I.P!
if you look at the back acher it looks smaller than the one in ur pic i think that might have been changed at some point! possibly when my grandad had it! i always remember an old backend lying against the hedge in the feilds! also he had another one of these or similar model at one point as a donner! so it quite possibly was swapped at some point! did your fathers machine have a 4 in 1 bucket

If my memory serves me right I think the 2B had a detachable backend anyway....you could drop it off and then use the machine solely as a loading shovel
May be someone has some JCB 2B photos or brochures to share with us ??

It had a 3 point linkage and PTO for use when the backhoe was detached much the same as JCB's newly introduced MidiCX.
