Re: jcb 3dx
Here is a 3DX machine fitted with a hammer belonging to FNR from Ringmer, i think that the sitemaster was spec'd from the 3D machine.

Re: jcb 3dx
1550B I think is the USA version of the 3CX, centremount backacter, ROPS frame as opposed to full cab, and standard front bucket.

Re: jcb 3dx
The 1500B is a 3CX Centremount machine fitted with a 15ft 6" excavator as apposed to the standard 14ft. The larger excavator end is not available on the 3CX Sideshift.
The US BHL models are categorised by excavator dig depth compared to the European models which are categorised by engine HP rating. As such the US manufactures class the machine as 14ft, 15ft or 17ft and to fall in line with this JCB changed the US model name in the early 80's. Sometime later this was shortened to a three characters such as the 215 (3CX 15ft). In 2006 the decision was made to simplift the naming convention and bring the model names closer to the European counterparts and the 215 became a 3CX 15ft. This made it easier to identify the base model but still retained the excavator dig depth in the name which was important to the market

Re: jcb 3dx
I've noticed that JCB are currently running adverts for the new generation of JCB 3CX & 4CX models (with Eco options) in the UK showing a sideshift 3CX, with '14ft' clearly visible on the model number decal at the top of the dipper.

Re: jcb 3dx
Tis a shame that a 3DX is now the inferior machine to the 3CX. Why oh why didnt they continue with the original 3D trademark of long boom and long dipper design. Some people werent fans I know but a massive amount of people were including me.

Re: JCB 3D MK111 brakes question
I have a JCB 3D Mk111. It seems to be running well but the brakes are not working at all on it. The pedal is solid when pressed. Does any body know if they are dry disk or wet brakes before I go at them.
I also cannot find a manual for this machine. If any body can help please let me know.

Re: jcb 3dx
I think they are dry disc if it is a standard gearbox you just need to unbolt the floor an lift it out then there are two plates on the side of the housing that you need to remove and the discs are revealed.
