Re: Definitive 3CX King Pin repair guide
One/both of the slew ram seals has gone and the oil is getting past. This is then getting into the slew box and forcing what oil you have in there to come out.
Six up front .............................means plenty of grunt.

Re: Definitive 3CX King Pin repair guide
Hi Guys thanks for your help,
couple more questions,
Just spoke to my mechanic about the slew rams seals, he is hoping that there is no rust due to water ingress, any opinions on this?
Also there is a leak within the hydraclamp(not on the pipes) - is there a seal within the hydraclamps?, as this one appears to be leaking onto the rail, which is spilling onto the ground.

hmmm, I'm looking at the service manual here and I didn't find any direct reference to seals yet, you'd think there should be though.
I'll check further for you later on, I need to charge my lappy now!

Yes there is a seal in the clamp. It is effectively a piston that is tightening the bolt that goes through the rail. They are not difficult or expensive although the nut on the end can be difficult to shift. If it is weaping it needs changing because they can suddenly blow. You can get out of trouble on a temporary basis by by-passing one clamp.

Re: Definitive 3CX King Pin repair guide
Gees I much prefer that slewing arrangement than whats on my 3cx, no expensive king pins, racks, splines!!!
What model machine is that?
I'm mulling over a kingpost/slew refurb job, but if the back of mine was as simple as yours, there's be no decision necessary!!
