A new addition from JCB is the new JCB 3CXL Loader aimed basically at Local Authorities,Builders Merchants etc to compliment the existing but smaller scale 2CXL

Re: New JCB 3CXL loading shovel
Hi jcb1968
If your not using a very recent version of Word, I think you need to get a format converter add on or download the latest free Microsoft Word veiwer for the documents in the 'DOCX' format rather than the earlier Word 'DOC' format.
(IIRC a bit back that was the solution given when some users could not read/open similar files).

Wonder whats the advantage over using a small loading shovel other than for some users with fleets of 3cx machines thers a parts and servicing inventory reduction. Also supose the advantage of less wear and tear than running 3cx's with backhoes not being used most of the time for some fleet users.
I thought the 2cx tractair filled the niche that used to be filled by the IH and MF's tractors with loaders and compressors for the tarmac gangs.

Think the 2cx tracair killed off the opposition.

Re: New JCB 3CXL loading shovel
I think it's a good idea. So easy to make I would have thought. Don't weld the backhoe frame on the back but attach a great lump of counterweight instead. A tried and tested unit and it will always appeal to the loyal JCB customer. Maybe digger sales are slow and this is seen as a worth a punt.
Six up front .............................means plenty of grunt.

The people who used to buy this type of machine all swapped over to artic loaders and telehandlers years ago , can't see 'em going back.

Re: New JCB 3CXL loading shovel
I think Case used to offer a loading shovel based on the 580, with a rear counterweight. I saw a 1997 model for sale somewhere in a magazine.
To me the 3CXL is a niche product, but its a niche i'm not aware of anyone else competing in at the moment and although the demand for such a machine is probably small, its obviously there or JCB wouldn't bring it to the market and being a variation on an existing product JCB can probably build it to order on an ad-hoc basis.
It would be interesting to find out what the price differential between this and a compact wheel loader or telescopic handler carrying a bucket of the same size
