To the JCB experts, newjcb123uk etc!

Post #1 by jz145 » Tue Dec 08, 2009 10:11 pm

Hi there men, im sadly deciding to sell my 1984 JCB 3cx White Cab due to lack of use, only been used for 5 hours in the past 12 years, and as im stuck on top of a mountain in South Wales, the cab is starting to go abit, and id rather see it go to someone who will look after it, and get some enjoyment out of using her, its a full spec model, Extradig, 4 in 1 with original forks etc. Shes got a Perkins engine which would survive a bomb hitting it, as you can tell, not used regularly, but hever fails to start up in any weather, the engine has been started every 6 months however. Shes in general good order, not a hell of a lot of play in the back actor, although she does require some attention to the doors due to the elements starting to eat them away, as well as a new silencer, a crack in the wind screen also, but its been there for 14 years and never troubled me, she'll also come with 4 almost new buckets, (5ft heavy duty ditcher, 3 ft, 2 ft, and a brand new 1 ft) Just wondering what i should price her at as she does need the odd bits and peices doing to her, if anyone could advise that'd be great!

Hi Ashley
Regarding your 1984 JCB 3CX backhoe loader,if it is a 4wd it is worth around £6000 to an end user - if it is a 2wd probably £1000-£1500 less.Hope this is of use to you !

Thanks for the replies lads,

Unforunately it is only a 2wd model. Im just trying to sum up whether it'd be worth my while doing the little bits to it and then selling it, or just let the buyer sort them out to their own satisfaction.

Iv seen similar machines without the four in one in slightly worse condition reach around £4000, just wondering what the value of it would be.

Forgot to mention there also two brand new rear tyres and exhaust on it.

In reply to Martyn, its located in the Pontypool, Torfaen area.

Just a general question, a good few years ago, there was a pullout in classic tractor called earthmovers with a relativly new 3cx on it, inside a report on a local contractor i think called DWC in Essex, anyway, thats where m 3cx came from, the DWC still being visable on the front of the roof of the cab/
