Hi Folks,
Thanks for the replies.
In answer to your questions, I dont know if any DD70s survive and I beleive they were based on the MF 65 skid. The later and larger DD95 used a Fordson skid unit.
Here are a couple more Pics.

Great stuff Fred :brravo: the bloke on the little tracked loader looks awfully uncomfortable, looks like he's crapped himself, perhaps the seat really was that bad!
But seriously that machine looks like the German Schmiedag machines?

Hi Jeremy,
The only thing German about the little Ransomes crawlers was the design of their "Drayton Diesel" engines.
Road Machines Drayton, (of Monorail fame), produced these engines to a German "Stihl" design in the 1960s.

Have not seen many pictures of Merton Loaders at work but believe this is one -

Merton were later bought by Whitlock and a Whitlock badged Merton appears on the famous Oyslager book Earthmoving Vehicles.
Has anyone ever seen one in either guise ?

I think that Hymac tried to sell a few Merton loaders after they took over Whitlock but nothing much came out of this so I guess they must have dropped the product?

It looks like quite a neat design . Now a Hy-Mac badged Whitlock - Merton loader would be a rarity I imagine :D

Got a feeling they were still badged as Merton.
