tyres

Post #1 by d4c24a » Mon May 04, 2009 10:43 am

the front tyres on the case are pretty much smooth now after 1800 hours :o
i managed to find a pair of Firestone's with around 90% tread left at a good price
i spoke to my boss who agreed to buy them ,so i popped out early yesterday and fitted them
these are more of an industrial pattern than the agri type they are replacing so may last a bit longer
it was already getting hot so i found some shade to do it under

thats surprising for a 3cx ,as the 53 plate i had got to 4500 hrs before it went and still had 50% front tyres
this was a contractor with the 20" fronts and 99% of its work was on the road

ian our regerstration numbers change twice a year
the jcb had the reg no GN53YDJ so the 53 relates to it being registed between sept 03 to march 04
then from march 04 to sept 04 the 53 changes to 04 and then sept 04 to march 05 its 54 etc
the first two letters relate to the area it was registed ,the numbers tell what year it was registed and the last three letters mean nothing
cheers graham
