Thank you very much for sharing them. I particularly like the photo of the 1979 3C MKIII with Extradig. Is it 4x4?

Just a query, but would that be a 3DII rather than 3CIII? Looks to have 4WD by front tyres, large backacter and for some reason the JCB logo seems to be red on a 3D and black on a 3C.

I have a pic of a 79 3CIII I drove once, logo is black, flicking back to Jeremy's post on page 2 there's a couple of cracking shots of a 3D at SED, logo is red.

Shame there's not many 3D's left about, guy across the road when I was a kid used to drive a 3D for local firm. He sometimes brought it home overnight, I always used to get excited when I heard it coming up the street!

Well noticed Nick, yes that is 3Dmk3, you can tell by the height and rake of the boom, the extra dig was different from the 3C, and of course the red JCB badges.
However it is not a 4x4, all JCB's that had the 6in1 bucket fitted had the heavy duty tractor pattern front tyre as standard.

Great pictures Usedjcbdave

I'd agree with Martyn on the 3D classification. The back actor is a monster compared to my 3C MK3.

Stunning pictures.

Please find attached a picture of my old girl (JCB 3C MK3 - Power Train).

She's wearing the wrong cab at the moment, but I'm going to get here a new(ish) one when I start the restoration later this year.

Cheers

Philip
