Hi Benny, right, your serial number should read 154265/64 making it a JCB 4 built in 1964, the 154 means a JCB 4, 265 is the build number of the year 1964, in June that year they upgraded the 4 yet again and giving it a BMC Nuffield diesel engine making the 4 a 4C .. hope this helps

Martyn

PS Your machine might have the BMC nuffield engine as some prior to June that year had some fitted to test out before committing themselves to BMC

If it is 1964 and a Ford skid, it will be a Fordson Super Major. If you need any help with the Fordson part try:

www.fordsontractorpages.nl and go to the bulletin board.

There are some very knowledgeable guys on there.

Hi Benny, great pictures, the machine is good shape considering its age, few bits missing, like the valve block housing, the dipper ram housing, the operators rear seat, and i see its even had a heater fitted, and what have they done to the rear "A" frame valve lift lever ?
And yes a real beastie on the road Benny  but great pics, i hope you will keep updating us on your progress.

Interesting, just goes to show the difference in export models, the british version had a tractor type seat attached to the rear valve block frame and went up into the cab roof when in travelling position .. anyways another pic of your 4 when new ..

when you are ready for respray, use Ford lemon yellow and British post office red
