Massey 40 window rubbers

Post #1 by hair bear » Tue Aug 01, 2023 10:41 pm

Hi, here's one for you...
Currently struggling to replace the glass in a 1978 500 series Massey with the two part rubbers. PITA, professional help on it's way! Anyhow, thinking on, I'm sure I remember the windows on the 40 were fitted with the same type of pita rubbers but the insert was yellow. Anyone else remember that or did I imagine it? :insomnia:

Beading! Thank you, that's the word I was looking for.
Just seemed odd to have something that I would see as 'bling' being fitted to what was a very utilitarian machine.

Think that may be referred to as a 'finishing touch'

You can just about make it out on the side window.

I have since seen a cabbed 135 with white beading. I think I'll stick with black.
