Treated myself to an ESAB Sentinal A50 air fed unit (used) when I got my Tig (also used) lovely thing to have cold air blowing on your face while welding, and the hood means that bearded me has a filtration system that actually works when grinding!

With changes in the law you should really use an air fed helmet for any welding now (for companies who employ welders); as I rarely weld it would be beyond my cost to afford one for the small amount I actually do but I must agree with you they are great.

I had been using a really good breathing mask (GVS SPR501 P3RD) which is small enough to fit behind a welding visor, but the beard wasn't exactly helping it seal!
