For changing the torque oil,the best you can do is to remove the drain plug in the square sump on the shuttle unit. It's at the lowest point so whatever runs out is as good as it gets. If the oil is dirty or contaminated, you may need to then refill and run the engine for a few minutes and then redrain to flush the system.
To top up and/or refill, pour the oil through the dipstick tube to the right side of the battery. Usually you need to pour in so much and let it settle for a short time as the oil sticks to the sides of the tube which the dipstck then picks up on as it's entered, thus giving a false reading. Then to get a proper reading on the stick, the engine needs to be running or else dip immediately after stopping it. The oil cooler is higher than the torque unit, which means the oil in it runs back into the rest of the system when the engine is stopped, hence giving a high reading and the need to dip when it's running or immediately after stopping.
There is a square head plug further back on the under side of the gearbox for draining it and another just above it on the side for refilling til the oil runs out of it.
Jcb Special Transmission Fluid which is 10w oil if you want to go for the recommended real stuff, or standard ATF (Dexron 2 or3) for the torque converter and 15w40 (or 10w30 SUTO) for the gearbox.
