Could anyone please tell me what type of oil to put in a diesel fuel injection pump on a Leyland 4/98?
The service manual calls for an oil change every 200 hours and im going to assume this hasn't happened.
Is it just a question of draining out the old oil, tightening the drain plug and then pouring oil in until it comes out if the level plug?
Thank you in advance.

That's spot on Pete, and the procedure is exactly as Chris has stated.

Re: Fuel injection pump oil
Also the 4/98 was fitted with two injection pump types over the years, the CAV dpa rotary type or the Simms inline pump.
Only the earlier Simms has a separate oiling system to top off/change, the CAV type is self oiled by diesel throughout.
