So to make it easier for the experts on here (not me I might):
When you select slew on the spool valve does the engine change note?
If you operate the slew does the hydraulic system dead end at any point?

Re: JCB 3C Hydraulic problems
It could be the teeth on the slew gear or rack that are worn out but it's more likely to be the splines on both the slew gear shaft and inside the king post that are worn away.If so,with the bucket up,you will be able to push the actor from side to side by hand. If you can't,something could be jamming the rack,as in a broken tooth,or if laid up a long time, seizure of something internal. The slew gear shaft protrudes up out of the actuator housing and the king post drops down over the top of them.
If the splines are gone, the rack should still move from side to side internally when you move the slew lever
,which can be noted by a strain on the engine, especially at the end of the stroke when dead ending as Pete has said.

My 3C111 had water in the slew box which froze stopping it working. I had to remove the drain plug & pour in hot water to get rid of the ice
