Hi Robert,
As far as Im aware, it was a convention front wheel steer. Have never seen one in the flesh, so to speak so can only guess.

One company in Portland (ultimately sold to Kenworth) did make some skid steers, but they had a short wheel base
to make the turning easier. I just couldnt see an articulated frame so I wonderered.

I actually have a log skidder now that is BOTH steered (on both ends) AND articulated. Kind of neat--- it will drive sideways which is a good thing if you slide sideways and wrap around a tree.
