Thanks for the help, you are right. We wound the studs in and this extracted the dowels so at last we got the damn things off, now we still have to find seals from god knows where.

Good to hear. try googling Dowty Actuator you might get lucky. The MF firm often quoted on The Farming Forum for old parts is P V Dobson based, I think, in Skipton.
