Hi all, I've noted that the standard replacement filter is 25 micron and they also do a 10 micron one for intial flushing purposes. Nowadays filters are much more critical and finer it seems. Would a 10 micron one work ok? Or would it cause too much pressure reduction? I'd be keen to fit the finer one to strain out all the muck in the system. I have new oil to put in too.
Thanks,

I understand your approach, but filter manufacturers don't recommend going too fine as some of the additives can be filtered out too.
Many of the filter manufacturers have a: Make, Model lookup to give you the correct filter numbers.

Thank you for your reply, I have asked a main dealer and they assured me that there would be no problem...still not sure though, cos if it blocks prematurely and goes into by pass mode then it won't be doing it's job
