Hi Gents, I am trying to sort out a starter problem on a Project 8 3cx that does not start, I thought it was a problem with a connection as you can turn the key and you get the buzzer and warning lights loud and clear then when you go and turn to start you get nothing, I have replaced the positive battery cable which had got Verdigris on it and cleaned the negative one up and refitted. I had a spare starter motor and solenoid that are good so I changed them and like an idiot I did not make a note of which cable go where.
I have a cluster of Yellow cables that are all connected together into one ring terminal, Then there is a smaller cluster of cables on another terminal ring with the single cable for the starter solenoid this has a spade terminal on it, Then obviously the positive cable from the battery. there is a post on the back of the starter motor in the picture what cable goes to that one. I thought I could be clever and have a look at a project 12 3cx that I have but it seems to be completely different.
I have attached a picture of the starter motor.

I'm on the wrong continent to check my P8, but I'm looking at the wiring diagram - which show nothing at all about extra wires .
You don't have a lot of options, so it should be pretty simple.
The solenoid normally only has two terminals that are used for wire/cables.
The 1/4" spade is the signal wire from the ignition switch.
The copper stud is direct to the battery and is always hot.
If the "yellow wire eye terminals" fit on the copper stud, that's where they should go
As for the starting problem
Obvious question - is it in neutral?
Check the Neutral Start Relay (110 on the diagram).
Edit: is your P8 above or below 430000?

Ah - sorry, I was looking at the wrong diagram.
Your neutral relay is "6" on the correct diagram!
First thing to check (because it's the easiest) is Fuse B9
Relay "6"
If those test ok, it looks like one of the dump switches "9" & "9A" or the F-N-R selector
2 - ignition switch
4 - solenoid
5 - starter motor
