Could anyone tell where I can find VIN number for my jcb 3c 1980 this does have a reg number plate. But I want to get a log book from dvla.so I can tax it . But they say I need to fill in a V62 form but the form states I need to put down my VIN number. Or the form will be returned..

Second does any one know of a cheap insurance company to get my jcb insured so I can tax it?

also I have another jcb with no reg number plate but does have a A4 size aluminium plate then does seem to have numbers on it ,,,,but when I contacted jcb they say the number is not a number see the photo for the plate .. Plate does look like its 1964 year... number on plate 39620/11/64

Don't listen to JCB. That is your diggers serial number. The 11/64 on the end is the month and year of manufacture. On your 3Cmk3 the chassis plate should be under the loader arm on a triangular piece of steel that is welded to a chassis rail/hydrachassis. However, they commonly fall off.
