Frozen rad, tried turning over! :(

Post #1 by kerniki » Wed Feb 28, 2018 8:28 am

Will it be buggered when it thaws :(

Early morning and wasn’t paying attention, 2 or 3 seconds trying to crank, cranked but only just about turned and probably only 1 stroke of piston, think my loosish belt meant it was slipping at water pump which might have prevented damage, maybe?

Smoke cane off negative battery terminal.

Thoughts on possible damage?

It’s minor Water loss problem means it doesn’t get much anti freeze, probably 10% max at mo, I know I know!

Hi Nicolas if I were you I would immediately take off the radiator cap, disconnect the top and bottom hoses and open any drain taps there may be on the engine block, then as it thaws the water will have somewhere to go, you may just be lucky.
