JCB 2D A21175
Hi, looking at a 2D to buy and use with 3 cylinder Nuffield engine On small plate it reads s/n A21175 engine 8534 and 42B98152. Just about got it working (with help) but exhaust manifold is broken so will have to get new one. Have seen some on the net, some with simple swept bends, others with more complicated casting. There are some small hydraulic leaks on the swivel joints on the back actor, but believe that this is down to new copper washers. No seat, some examples on net for possible purchase. Is it worth all the trouble?

Re: JCB 2cx? A21175
Hi and welcome.
If it runs, drives, and does all the actions it's supposed to without huge amounts of unnessesary noise and smoke, or great amounts of slack in pivot pins etc. you could do worse!
Depends how badly broken the manifold is. A competent fabricator should be able to weld it back, and could be cheaper than sourcing a new one.
Most hydraulic leaks are wear related, washers or O rings. If there's a lot of wear then you may be better off replacing the joint. Make sure you release all the pressure off the hydraulic system before removing any pipes. Pressurized oil is nasty stuff.
Why is the seat missing? Are the seat runners there? What state is the cab floor in?
Pics are always good, we love 'em here!

If a LandRover doesn't leak oil, it's run out.
