What JCB Model, Engine have I got?

Post #1 by Diarmuid » Mon Dec 11, 2017 7:23 pm

Hey guys,
Just embarked on my largest restoration project ever and I’m finding it tricky to identify the exact model and engine type, so hopefully someone here can help, the numbers I can see from a very faded plate are:
3C 105970
384B 184958
17170

Again, as you can see the plate is faded so I could be a bit wrong.

I’ve downloaded all the manual and still can’t figure it out

JCB 3C mk 11 based on a Leyland tractor skid. I am not sure but i think it would be the 4/98 engine.
One of the more knowledgeable will confirm.

Thanks Pete, she needs a few new filters and so on, so that helps a lot.

It’s an old Irish reg, and I have to get a reissue of the log book
