Hello Guys,
I've been registered on here for a while now, using the knowledge of people on here to fix various problems with my machine.
I have taken the plate cover off on the nearside chassis hydraulic tank to clean up the hydraulic suction strainer. I somehow managed to break the gasket that seals up the plate.
Before I bodge with some "instant gasket" I was wondering if anyone knows the part number for a replacement gasket?
I have a parts manual but after searching through 900 pages I still cant seem to find the page which shows the plate/gasket/strainer.
Finally do I replace with fluid with 32 or 46 grade? It seems people use both on here.
Thanks in advance for you help.
Gary

Hi Gary; if it's an old cardboard gasket I'd be very tempted to make one out of some cardboard.

Hello Jeremy,
It appears to be a cork gasket about 3mm thick so think it will need more than the cardboard trick on this occasion.
Thanks, Gary

Gary I'd have a quick check on Google you may pick some cork gasket up to make a replacement easier than getting the new gasket.

Hello Guys,
Thanks for you help.
In the end I managed to find a parts catalogue and scrolled through it until I found the part number.
For anyone else doing a service, the SUCTION STRAINER GASKET NUMBER IS: 106/82109

You could always get your machine number and give JCB a call they can normally supply parts pretty quickly, or as Jeremy says make your own gasket is pretty easy. You should really use 46 grade hydraulic oil in your machine.
