white cab JCB serial numbers.

Hello all.
I have recently purchased a white cab JCB 3cx. I can't seem to find any identification plate but I have noticed the following numbers on the machine and am wondering if these might be the serial number. Can anybody tell me if any of these are in fact the serial number.
The numbers: 120-43402. Located on the backhoe boom
120/83300 Located on the cab
120/83400 Also located on the cab.

Have a look on the top of the chassis above the offside front wheel.It should be stamped on there.If it has plastic engine covers on push this back or remove to reveal.Good luck !

Think those will be part or casting numbers Tim. On mine,there's an aluminium plate riveted to the side of the chassis behind the RH front wheel,as David has said. The serial number starts with 3CX and then 6 numbers /P(for Perkins) or possibly 4/98NT if Leyland powered.

Thanks for the advice.
Unfortunately the plate seems to have disappeared. Only the fixings remain.
Does anyone know of a way to identify it without the plate?
I mean in general terms as It is looking like I might need to buy some parts for it soon.
