motor rotation JCB 3C2 4/65 38TD BMC LEYLAND

Post #1 by kija4064 » Fri Mar 06, 2015 10:41 am

hi,

there is no engine currently installed in my machine.

there was an engine Type JCB 3C; 4/65 frame; BMC LEYLAND 38TD engine.

I would like to know in which direction the motor rotates. (viewed from the front the driving seat).

the hydraulic pump rotates anti-clockwise from the driving seat.

can I install another engine if so which one? and how?

thank you

I would be a little confused here! If the pump turns anti clockwise looking from the rear, the engine too has to turn anti clockwise! Normally the direction is defined by looking at the front of an engine,so therefore the Leyland, and nearly all engines, turn clockwise.Looking at the front. There are a few that turn anti clockwise such as the odd Honda.
As far as installing another engine, you are best staying with another Leyland. It's unlikely that anything else will fit in easily without much modification but anything is possible......ish.

Would it really be worth the hassle?
