JCB 3CX Maintenance Query

Post #1 by Harrier520 » Sun Feb 22, 2015 2:41 pm

May be a silly question but can anyone advise whether or not to lubricate backhoe rails and, if so, what with?

if its the later wedge type that you can adjust , a bit of wax oil before parking up , and leave extender out , myself if it gets a bit squeaky i spray a little wd40 on it but thats about it no grease

are you meaning sideshift rails if so I think wire brushing and maybe light oiling may help don't overdo oil or when u slew sideways carriage will move up and down slightly. best to just keep rails clean I find.

Thank you both for the advice. I did mean to the side shift rails initially but the advice on the other extending rails is also useful, thanks.
