Is there much difference between the 2b & 2d?

Is it simply a 4 cylinder engine (and frame) bolted into the same jcb frame?

Good question , always thought the 2D looked a very handy machine but you never saw many.

There was a 2b mk1 which had a Fordson engine and latterly a 3cylinder Leyland engine.

The 2B mk2 had the 3 cylinder Leyland but a revamped look. The 2Bmk2 very briefly (as in less than a year circa 1970) had the 4 cylinder engine.

The 2D had the 4 cylinder Leyland throughout its quite long lifespan of 10 years 1970 - November 1980

The difference in horse power is around 25hp.

Hi,
My first time on this site, can anyone help dating a JCB 2D the JCB serial number is 2D 56112 and the tractor serial number is 384 B 141348. So if its based on a Leyland 384 these were only made from 1969 t0 1972.
Thanks
Pat
